DERA DIN PANAH

HABITAT:

This breed type is located in the district of Muzafargarh and Multan in punjab province.they are named after dera din panah,a town in Muzaffargarh district.



PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

These goats are black and hairy with the well developed body,large head with roman nose,hairs on the chin,long and broad ears cartilaginous appendages on the side of the neck are found in some animals,horns are thick and long with two to three spiraled curves the tail is medium and covered with short,rough hairs udder and teats are well developed and milk yield is 245 liters in 135 days of lactation adult male and females weigh 45 and 40 kg respectively and yield 1200 grm of hair per head/annum. twin birth is common,these goats are raised for milk yield meat and hair production
